A successful year for Duleek recording its greatest successes to date, first bit of silver to come their way was the prestigious Knock out cup associated with the league. On the voyage to victory Duleek removed the scalps of Julianstown, Churchtown and Symamore each by 2 – 1. These victories brough Duleek to the quarter final where they disposed of Dronin United by 2 goals to 4. Symamore were the semi final victims but offered little or no opposition and were beaten 4-0. The path was bow clear to the final which was played against Ardee’s pride and joy Dee Utd, the match went to a replay after the first game in a nail biting thriller which ended in a draw on that occasion. Duleek had two heroes Stepehen Shanley and Gerry Powderley, Shanley for his casual yet well taken equaliser and Powderley for many billboard saves one of which defied credibility. The replay was poised to be a fairer affair. The whole Duleek team played as if under a magic spell such was the fluidity of their play and they easily accounted for a transfixed Dee Utd by 4-0.
The next piece of silverware claimed by Duleek was the top form competitions from the same league East Man 3-1 victories in the semi final and Duleek defeated Fromin Utd by 1-0 in the final at Dee Utd grounds outside Ardee. Duleek’s 23rd match that season was the St Patrick’s cup final against Ratoath where the local side Harps succeeded to victory by 3-2. Duleek were not finished yet as they went on to add the Drogheda Summer League Referee Shield to the sideboard. On the way to the final there they defeated Hawu 3-0, Brugha Utd 302, Gilmose Saints 1-0 and in the final Coluthians 4-1
The climax of that year was the annual reunion in the Neptune Hotel which doubled as a celebration dance. The players were presented with their many trophies by the new club president Fr Aidan Walsh.
